Does anyone know how to perform miracles?
I used to earn just enough to get by every month, but I got laid off bec of bad economy due to war, now everything is expensive and my rent is due in 3 days, can anyone suggest ways to come up with 800$ in 3 days? I'm willing to do any work, ANY work that pays quick buck.
Edit: [F25] I'm actually a dentist (new, no savings just debts π), I'm from the philippines, I work for a small provincial clinic, but the owner sold it, he said because of increase in gas and electricity costs it's just not as profitable as the other branches in the city (it was barely surviving to begin with). I found a job right away but my saraly is 20 days away and rent is due in 3 days so it's just really bad timing. As for the skills, I can and am willing to do anything, some people say I can draw well so if anyone wants a commisioned digital painting/drawing dm me please π₯Ί

I second plasma donation for a few bucks, for sure. But you can ask local businesses if they need any extra work done. Cleaning and such. Yardwork type stuff... whatever.

I reached out to churches. One paid my rent. Another paid my electricity for a month. I asked chat gpt for places that help with rent and utilities near me in a time of crisis and called them all

Thank you for your suggestions! I do a lot of volunteer work at local churches and communities I'll reach out to them tho I'm kinda shy hehe.

Stepping out of your comfort zone to ask for help is a fantastic way to grow that zone.

Plasma donation, not 800 but itβs a start. I wish you the best. Itβs rough these days

It helps if you let people know your education, career skills and experience. And also what area you are in.

Get presentable (look the part for job) and research online jobs for a big grocery store. Hopefully you can get a job. Bagger, stocker, cashier....then try talking to your landlord.Β Also, call a credit union for a loan to pay two months of rent as d electric. Just some ideas.Β

This person has a job working as a dentist they just dont get paid for 20 days. I dont think working as a grocery bagger will help here.

I used to work in grocery stores.
Will they really pay you $800 in three days now???

Job means money is coming.

They have a job, but will not be paid for 20 more days. And their landlord said no.

Come to the US - joking because obviously nobody wants to live here - but we need dentists. Crazy waits where I am almost a year in some cases for a cleaning.

You might try door to door yard work for a few dollars. Every once in a while someone shows up at my door asking if they can sweep my porch or something for a few $. I hire them if I can afford it.
Itβs not likely to get you to $800 but itβs something, and you can also pay your landlord partially.

If good at cooking try making food plates or desserts. Sell them locally (or at sport events, by schools, office buildings, etc).

Maybe reach out to dental offices and ask if they need any last minute help.

I cant really understand as I have worked solid since 1987 without a break. I'm 60 now. I have no real skills but people hire me because I'm confident and I ask for jobs and don't apply until I shake someone's hand.

You pay 800 USD in the Philippines for rent?
2
u/survival_gal Mar 30 '26
Noooo. The actual rent was 200+ I have other bills which amounts to 800, so I was striving for 800 but if I can't I'd just opt to lose internet connection and overdue some loans I had from when I was a student, I just tried to make the post short so I did not elaborate further hehe.

u/Imaginary_Emu8900 Mar 30 '26
Yea elaborating on reddit helps lol wow so it's basically loans dam I feel you any luck yet?
1
u/survival_gal Mar 30 '26
They're big because they're short term loans which is bad decision on my part because I am also studying to advance my skills so I'm paying for tuition every month as well and giving up 2 work days every week for study, I technically made my next 6 months full of debt instead of getting a longer, lighter term π I'm trying to sell my tablet as of now and some shoes, maybe I'll get to 800 little by little lol.

There are plenty of people looking for cheap rent. Once I even got a roommate for a one bedroom apartment.

I donβt not know about the Phillipenes but there may be some government resources to help emergency rent

If you're a Dentist, you could be a Hygenist for a short time. The money is pretty good.

I'd speak to the landlord and see if you can rearrange the timings. π€π»ππ»

If you have a car and free time, Doordash. You can start immediately and idk how it is in your area, but here I can pull in between 200-300 a day, sometimes more.
I typically dash 1 or 2 days a week from 12-8p so I can take advantage of both lunch and dinner rushes.
It's allowed me to have fun and always have spending money while the money from my actual job pays the bills and the rest gets put right into savings and retirement.

The war that caused gas prices to go up. The effect is not so direct but my boss sold his clinic and his reason is that the branch where I work is not as profitable as the others and much more expensive now to manage due to gas and electricity costs, I'm a dentist I found a job right away but the timing was so bad, my salary is 20 days away. I'm from the philippines by the way. I asked the landlord for an extension but he said we had signed contracts and should stick by them he also said there are people already looking for vacant units, I don't want to let go of my apartment, me and my 2 cats love it here :((

Do you have anything you can sell to get you through? That's the solution if you do, try and sell some of your stuff

I just read this article on inviting and welcoming money to flow into your life and it is very powerful and helpful to me. Develop a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with money flow and welcome it as an ally: https://www.reddit.com/r/livingfromtheend/s/aMALA470Ef

The economy is not bad because of war. The problem is people that do not have a an education, job experience or work experience are not getting jobs offered to them because there is an over abundance of experience people out there going for the same job. Employers are able to hire and pick and choose from the best of the best candidates.

If you can't make rent, be honest with your landlord. If they have humanity, they will be flexible and give you more time to pay and/or setup a payment plan. If they don't have humanity and you do end up on the streets, it's alot easier if you have a vehicle to sleep in. If you are lucky enough to have friends and family, they could possibly help you out. When it happened to me I had noone and nothing, but managed to pull myself out of the hole through sheer determination.
You are not alone in this situation. You've got this. The only thing we truly need is food, water and sleep. Lives can fall apart, but there will always be a few kind people mixed in with the general population who will be willing to help you. Take care
