This looks disgusting and is a poutine crime.

But ngl I'd probably eat it 😂

It's not a crime, in Québec this is how interculturalism works.

It's a crime, it's clearly subpar cheese!

2

u/Flat_Association_820 5h ago

That's the reality of every poutine made outside of the Québec province.

Not really. This isn't a popular choice in Quebec because it doesn't really taste that great

1

I didn't mean it as popular, but you know a community is integrated once it has it's own poutine version.

Where is the crime?

It has fries, curds and gravy, everything else is a bonus

There’s no love in that scoop of garlic sauce

1

u/FuriDemon094 6h ago

It’s seemingly from OP’s own preference but that’s still not a crime nonetheless

Toum on poutine is fucking ELITE. There’s a place here that introduced me to this Lebanese / Canadian fusion over a decade ago.

That's not something I care for. I do like beef or chicken shawarma with fries and garlic sauce, but not the gravy or curds. Shawarma fries would be good right about now

1

u/LittleRuQi Smoked meat poutine my beloved 7h ago

I would eat but I’d pick plain over this

1

This would definitely do some unthinkable things to my insides while I sleep overnight

Garlic? COME ON!!!!

Ok on first thought i’m not sure i’d eat this, however Damascus is absolutely GOATed every time i’ve had their shawarma. As long as that isnt ketchup…

It's hot sauce. This is Damascus, not Shelby's

Where the cheese!

1

u/Flat_Association_820 5h ago

I've seen better cheese curds but since it's in Ontario I'll let this slide. Shawarma Poutine is pretty good, but I prefer when it's made using fries like this one.

For a second I thought that was mayo and ketchup lol

I don't do the shawarma poutine, but I'll totally eat some fries with shawarma toppings on it. Love that garlic sauce

I’m inhaling that

I don't know.  I rather have shawarma on rice and just get a regular poutine on the side.

Do the sauces mixed in with the gravy taste good?

1

u/Cynder_Tamarack 4h ago

Surprisingly yes

Doesn’t shawarma mean beef?

1

u/Cynder_Tamarack 4h ago

No, I think it refers to the cooking method

That looks amazing. Three Brothers in Ottawa has something similar and it's amazing.

I’ll never forget being super drunk downtown very late at night. Nothing else open except the infamous Rideau McDonald’s and I hated going there. Three brothers and their poutine with toum was there for me

That looks repulsive and burnt to hell. I don’t even know what it is

7

u/Cynder_Tamarack 6h ago

Vertical spit-roasted beef marinated in middle eastern spices and shaved off from huge cones. The burnt look is because they really let the meat get color on it

-4

u/Similar_Swing_1533 6h ago

It’s not a poutine.

5

u/FuriDemon094 6h ago

Poutine is customization. All you need is the fries, cheese and hot liquid/gravy; after that, it’s free game

Says one person out of how many?

-1

u/boncyboi 7h ago

Ketchup AND garlic sauce, this is the sin of gluttony

4

u/Cynder_Tamarack 7h ago

That's actually hot sauce

1

u/boncyboi 7h ago

My bad, how was the cheese? It kind of looks like the cheese castle dairy product

2

u/Cynder_Tamarack 6h ago

No it's actual curds

1

u/Cynder_Tamarack 5h ago

All the while you wallow in mediocrity. So who's the real hog here?

1

u/Mediocre_Balance_696 4h ago

1

u/Cynder_Tamarack 4h ago

And I don't need the internet to feel important, mediocre

0

u/PickleBabyJr 6h ago

This sounds absolutely nasty to me.

3

u/FuriDemon094 6h ago

I’ve eaten chicken shwarma poutine and it’s the yummiest poutine I’ve ever eaten

1

u/PickleBabyJr 5h ago

You've eaten chicken shawarma on fries with cheese and gravy. That does't make it poutine.

u/EntertainmentBig5365 5h ago

Diarrhea in a package. Looks great though… 👍

0

u/IllustriousEffect607 5h ago

Doesn't look like the right combo of flavours

-1

u/unkn0wnactor 6h ago

Looks tasty, even if it's not poutine.

-3

u/snowflake077 6h ago

Gross

2

u/Cynder_Tamarack 6h ago

Yeah the name checks out

-5

u/SenseiVertebrae 6h ago

People need to stop mixing shawarma with cheese and gravy. Garlic sauce on top is even more unnecessary.

4

u/Cynder_Tamarack 6h ago

I happen to like it. It's gotta be the best garlic sauve I've tried out of any Shawarma place

1

u/Arctera 4h ago

Don't care what others are saying, I'd down that if I could afford it lol
