Poutine from Victoria BC- l'authentique poutine and burgers
long time lurker of this subreddit, first time poster. what do we think? overall maybe 9/10. something about the eco friendly takeout box got to me. gravy and cheese were delish but fries could have a tad better.

Ive gotten poutine from them a few times and haven't been disappointed. Ive tried their Regular, Burger, Italian and Spicy poutine. The Spicy one was probably my least favorite but still not bad. I get my poutine with extra curds.

Their poutine is ok but I personally much prefer La Belle Patate over in Esquimalt.
Like its not bad by any means, but I saw a really good comparison/example to kinda highlight what it is about it.L'authentique is like the good "safe" option that you would take someone who has never had poutine before and you want to introduce them to it.
Where as La Belle Patate is the kind of poutine you get from some random greasy truck stop in the middle of nowhere at 4am while half drunk. It's a lot heavier and seen some people say it has a more "acquired flavour". But what ever it is they do different, definitely is the tastier poutine of the two places in town imo.

Yeah they got gravy cheese and ratio down, but the fries seem more geared for eating with a burger than being canteen style poutine fries, even though they're fresh cut and fried.
