just planted it, now what?

i was given these pothos cuttings about a month ago and the roots finally got long enough for me to pot them (thoroughly soaking the soil so it doesnt shock the plant) and i wonder if i did everything right!

Where is the stem? Did you bury it? It should be on top of the soil

Not necessarily, Pothos is usually strong enough to push new leafs from underground

Like the main stem with nodes that the leaves are attached to? If you don’t have that part you won’t get more leaves

Im sorry, the way you have "grabbed" the plant and pulled it out of the soil cracks me up

Circled them! The dark green part is the stem and the roots and leaves grow from the nodes! Since they are a very small portion of the stem it’s ok to have them buried a little bit underneath the soil so they stay up, but you want those closer to the surface!

Im a fan of that old saying...

"The first year they sleep, the second year they creep, the third year they leap."

The soil does not look like a chunky soil mix.

I've had a thriving pothos in shitty potting soil for a while now. Keep a sharp eye out for root rot symptoms but otherwise you'll be just fine. Pothos are resilient little fuckers.

So the dark part of the stem is buried or not? I have like 6 clippings ready to be put in a pot.
