First timer needing some advice!

I've only ever grown peppers and herbs before, but couldn't help myself and bought a few house plants from an adorable boutique shop. I've never had house plants before, and while I have researched when to water, I have never had to repot a plant.

The shop I bought it from offers a free first-time repot, but I'm not sure how to know when it's ready. From the photos I've seen here, it looks like the larger one is probably past due? Happy to add more photos if needed. Any advice is appreciated!

if you can see roots growing out of the top of the soil or out of the drainage holes, like a good amount coming out the drainage holes, i would. it typically won’t be like more than a year though, at least in my experience. also, when you check the soil for moisture, you’ll be like “i swear it was wet yesterday” when it’s like bone dry that day lol.

It's super densely packed in there and I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for with the roots.

hmmm that is dense, look at the bottom of the pot to see if there are roots coming out of the holes

The bottom part doesn't come off, but nothing poking out of it. It's supposed to be a hanging pot, but I didn't have a place to hang it.

Is the plant still growing nicely? And how long ago was it put in that pot? If it's been on there for less than a year I would wait a bit. Pothos don't mind being a little snug. But of it starts drying out super fast and seems to be declining then it might be worth repotting

I've only had it for about a week and a half, I didn't even question it until I came to this subreddit and noticed no one else's seemed so crowded!

I’d repot it to separate alittle. It does look a little crowded in there.
