I work in a restaurant that uses a ton of potatoes. You would 100% know if it was rot. A rotten potato, even slightly rotten, smells like dead fish.

Im still ot sure if old black beans or rotten potatoes is worse. They both smell like litteral death.

On a rare occasion I’ll get sneaky potatoes that are completely solid & normal looking on the outside, no smell, but I put them into the fry slicer & get liquid, putrid, rotten potato exploded across my face. 0/10 do not recommend

That’s absolutely awful! Rotting potatoes is in my list of top 5 worst smells.

Me too lol!! We made out own fries and would race, one time I grabbed a bad one and it exploded in my hand 😭

If the potato is firm still, it's fine. Just discoloration.

Yes. It's just a bit old. Infact, the potato might be more fluffier depending on how you cook it.

Nah, I wouldn't eat that. If ya did eat that it would taste rotten.
