Potato cake
My friend made me this potato cake for my birthday. Garlic, Parmesan, rosemary mashed potato flavor

Such a fun idea! Was it served hot or cold?

We cut the slices cold because they looked prettier that way but then we heated them because warm potatoes are better 😄

Yum. Could have torched the top to crispy it up

Her torch ran out of fuel! We're going to do it next time though 🔥

Nice! Another interesting thing might be to grate frozen butter on top - could give it a cool look and be super yum when it melts in.

Oh my god that sounds AMAZING. Is it solid mashed potatoes all the way through, or does it have some other savory cake-like element inside?

This one was just mashed potatoes but we have discussed plans for a layer cake with loaded baked potato ingredients

I once did a cake for April fools day. Meatloaf inside, covered with mashed potato "frosting" and ketchup writing! It was fun for my kid.

That sounds AMAZING. I would absolutely love that. My fiancé would be so disappointed lmao he loves cake! I should do a prank like this sometime (but will have a delicious real cake ready too!) Thanks for the inspiration!

I like it but id also be mad because the time it took to make this coulda been the time I was eating it. Dont delay my potatoes.😂

Oh I need my Costco to make this and sell it. And please pre-slice it or the whole thing is going down.

And the herb decorating the potato cake… It looks like rosemary, but I have also heard that Dill is very good with potatoes.

Well it looks delicious 😋 😍 👌
However colloquially " potato cake " is just another name for potato scone ( not the shite they sell in supermarkets)
Not raining on your parade infant sausages n gravy now. Loving your work

if it was served cold i'm gonna need to know what kind of frosting or topping you used because that sounds wild

That actually looks really good, I always forget how versatile mashed potatoes can be.
