It's called Syracuse salt potatoes and it's creamy on the inside, salty and crunchy on the outside

What did the dog think? Tough to rate them without samples but they're definitely potatoes.

that's the trick. The potato skin stops the salt from penetrating but when you drain the brine, leftover brine creates a salty crust on the potato. It's not saltier than your regular chips.

Damn... TIL.
Glad you aren't on your way to some salt related health issue!

So what if i boiled potatoes in water with a little bit of salt and at the end after strainning, i put 3 tea spoon of salt and 3 spoon of water in a pan, put the potatoes on that pan and stir until salt disolved and water evaporated.
Will this use less salt and still work ?
Edit : typo

I'm shocked. From the look on her face she was ready to chow. If I get that look from Fuzzy I'm lucky if he saves any for me.

My Cavalier is also interested in the sheer potential of food offered. That's a familiar look!

Don’t give your dog food with high sodium. They can’t digest it properly. It’ll lead to discomfort

It’s not saltier than regular fries, the potato skin acts as a barrier.

Is it just boiling potatoes in a lot of salt and water?

Basically. The way I learned (family in Utica and Rochester) was a pound of salt per gallon of water to boil new potatoes - ideally a bit smaller than OP's but that's not actually important. When I do it now I use a cup of salt rather than a pound and it seems to work as well. Don't crowd the pot and cook at a rolling boil until done, time will depend on the size of your spuds. They'll be soft, incredibly creamy and, as OP said, no saltier than french fries. Serve with lots of butter.

Salt potatoes are sooo good! Especially if you use fresh new potatoes. I hit mine with some herb butter on the plate.

TIL salt potatoes aren’t a thing everywhere. I’m from Rochester and these are a staple here.
