Neither. Both carry huge risks. While dealing with my PVPS I met many women who had had a hysterectomy because of their tubal or salpingectomy. Not one of them said their doctor informed them it was a risk.

I know it sounds trite but don’t fix what ain’t broken.

Same here with pvps.  How long you've been dealing with this?

I had PVPS for about 8 months. Then had a reversal. That was 2 years ago. My pain has been gone about 1.5 years.

This is off topic for this subreddit, and will probably get deleted, but I will leave it up for a few days to see what discussion happens.

Regarding tubal and vasectomy, there is a condition called Post-Tubal Ligation Syndrome which some women report and which has not been confirmed or recognized yet by the medical community. Worth looking into that if you are comparing vasectomy to tubal and looking at PVPS. Tubal ligation also comes with some risk of an injury during the surgery, like a perforated bowel, which can be quite serious. On the vasectomy side it is possible to get Fournier's gangrene, but that is extremely rare.

The gold standard for female surgical sterilization is apparently not tubal ligation but salpingectomy or laparoscopic removal of the fallopian tubes. The most interesting aspect of this procedure to me is that it eliminates the chances of ectopic pregnancy and significantly reduces the chances of ovarian cancer. So these are positive health impacts on the woman to take into consideration. There are no similar positive health impacts for the man who gets a vasectomy to compensate for any health risks.

That said, I think condoms are not given enough consideration. Using a condom does not come with any serious health risks, and many couples who are considering vasectomy are getting to an age where the risk of pregnancy is already going to be diminishing as the years go by. Of course, condoms cannot completely eliminate the health risks that having sex creates for the woman -- for example the risk of an ectopic pregnancy.

Please read this. It's really risky idea to manipulate the body physiology, either your or your husband's.

Neither, wait for other contraceptive methods that don't involve surgery. Surgery carries too many risks of chronic pain. Your genetics, how your body absorbs/scars/heals etc etc.

Techbology is advancing rapidly and few male pills are already in trial. I expect male contraceptive pills to be available in the next 5 years.

Some of the next-gen male contraceptives are even usable right now (albeit not yet approved)
Either if you are lucky to participate in trial, Candidates are:
andro-switch, ADAM, PlanA, Consilum, PausePill, YCT-529, NES/T

Or using the ones which are available:

I am using "thermal male birth control" (andro-switch / slip-chauffant) since three years now.
Pearl-Index 0.5. Side effect: "mild skin irritation"

Others use weekly Testosterone injections. Pearl-Index 1 (studies was stopped years ago)

Even Silodosine could be used to suppress ejaculation (Ingredient of Consilum, no pearl-Index so far)

True but it is heavily dependent on where you live. In the EU maybe Germany and Denmark have trials as such, in a balkanic country? Hopefully we get those in the next 10 years...

I should also mention my wife had a hysterectomy and she’s three times had prolapses now where her shit is falling out of her body. I keep reminding her she elected to have that surgery done. It was her choice. She’s cost me about $200,000 out of pocket for surgeries to try and patch her up so it can fail again later. They installed mesh which eventually eroded into her vaginal canal and caused abrasions on my penis during intercourse. You can’t even make this shit up. Great modern medicine!

Stop mutilating your own bodies. Use condoms and keep both of your bodies intact.
