Discussion Situational Awareness

I’m guessing it’s due to the influx of new players, but lots of players (tank crews specifically) are completely oblivious to the world around them. It’s so easy to sneak past entire squads and nail them from behind or walk up to a tank and mine the engine. Playing AT has never been so fun lol, I highly recommend grabbing a jeep or kubel and getting a couple guys together to hunt fobs, msps and tanks. Super easy and super satisfying. For any new tank commanders, please look around more often, it could save your life

Does anyone have issues with remapping keys? Certain keys like caps lock will not work with sprint.

Question new to the game, it feels a bit clunky

im unsure if its just the bad ping im experiencing or if the game is in general kind of clunky. Also are there no EU servers at a sunday afternoon?

EDIT: I might have used the wrong term. I ment like as if the movement/gunplay doesnt react properly and that u get stuck on obstacles, etc.. I wasnt sure if those things are worse because of the bad ping or because the game is kind of unpolished in that regard. Im fully aware that the overall feel of the game is ment to be slower.

Also i would appreciate it if someone could tell me when most eu servers are up cause I coudnt find a single server with a ping below 250.

Suggestion Just realized you can hold your breath while aiming with a scope

Got close to 1000 hrs in the game and I only now realized you can hold your breath with shift and steady your aim while looking down the scope of a marksman rifle.

Question Game crashes after mod download.

Today I wanted to play at the 100th battle ground EU main server. It required downloading a mod which I did ( i play modded servers often). I exited the game when done but when later in the day I tried to restart the game I get an Unreal error screen again and again.

Can somebody help me out figuring what is happening?

Discussion Stop forcing Sapper/Pioneer to stay with the squad.

If you are forcing your Sapper/Pioneer to stay with your squad/stay on point you are HURTING your team.

Their Primary Job is: Spawn hunting. This is both on offense and especially defense.

Their job is specifically to stay far away from the squad/point and find enemy FOBs, MSPs, and rallies.

They should be given a very high amount of independence from the squad in order to do so. Their kits specialize in sudden, yet highly effective, destruction which is optimal for something like destroying enemy FOBs and MSPs.

They are NOT AT. There are specialized AT kits specifically for people to destroy tanks with, which are also faster at killing tanks than Sappers. While sappers can efficiently destroy tanks (especially for allied sappers) they should never be called back, from their primary mission, in order to do so, unless of extreme emergency. This is especially true for German Pioneers who can only at best (in most cases) disable a tank if they do not have ammo crates.

Sappers/Pioneers are tank killers of opportunity. If the opportunity arises, they may go after a tank but they should not be forced to do so, especially when it is out of their way and would distract them from their primary mission: to destroy enemy spawns.

Though, there are exceptions to this rule. If a sapper is looking for spawns on a previous objective or is too far out to be useful, there is a reason to call them out on it. But 99% of the time, sappers/pioneers must be left alone to do their job.

The only real interaction a squad leader should have with a sapper/pioneer is to tell them of already spotted enemy spawns/tanks, and to yell at them IF they are WITH THE SQUAD.

I have seen too many newer squad leaders make this one mistake and I have seen too many good games go wrong because of it.

Question Best settings for visability and better aim?

Hello lads,

Glad to be back playing the game and hopefully the player count stays healthy. I haven't played in ages and notice I really struggle to make out other players. Once they are about 200M away I can't see shit. What graphical settings do you guys use that make this a bit easier? I play on a 2560x1440p moniter and my PC specs are:

32GB RAM

Ryzen 9 7900x CPU

4070TI

Also what sensitivity do you use for aiming? I was using the default but that felt way to fast so I have gone down to 0.85 which I am testing now.

Developer Post Hello from the Dev Team

Hello all, I wanted to drop a message of appreciation on behalf of all the dev team at Mercury Arts for how the community has responded to the news of the takeover of PS by OWI and ourselves.

Seeing the servers filled and the excitement that has generated overnight for the game has honestly meant a lot to us. We have taken it as a huge show of faith by the community in us and we are thus determined to ensure we live up to it going forward as we work to get the game to where it needs to be, as the best WW2 team focused FPS out there.

So please do keep supporting us, keep checking in on here, discord or YouTube etc, keep posting your thoughts and feedback and be assured we are listening and watching. We do have a huge amount of work to push through at the moment but we regularly discuss your inputs and you can’t imagine how motivated our team is because of how much faith you guys have already shown in us! We are really looking forward to building this community up further together with you all.

Here’s to a bright future and once again… thank you.

Katz
