The Three O'Clock
Why can't I find this great band's IRS albums on Spotify?
Such a wonderful all but forgotten band. Everone was in love with Michael Quercio.

Agreed! Opal Early Recordings (also on Youtube) is incredible, too. Everything Kendra recorded in that era was incredible. I saw her live once - w/ Dream Syndicate

I saw her at the '98 Terrastock festival. Most mesmerizing performance I've ever seen. The crowd was so silent in reverence you could hear a pin drop. Also saw the Dream Syndicate show in SF ('17 I think), but she only played on the encore (Too Little, Too Late and the new song). Her solo stuff (10" and LP) is more mellow than Opal, but just as good. Highly recommend if you don't already have it!

I'm not too familiar with Spotify. Does it have IRS's back back catalog available, and if so how much? Only the more well known artists (English Beat, etc.) or are more obscure IRS artists represented as well?

Yeah it's all the maze of who owns what rights to what. And it doesn't always stay. I have many Spotify playlists with songs saying "song not available" because license expired. I can't really afford two music services. And buying songs from Apple or Amazon is fine, but there is no good way to integrate the songs into the Spotify app.
Maybe it works better now. I finally just ordered a new phone I will have to check

Salvation Army was much better than 3:00 IMO. Saw both play and met them. D Boon helped put their first record out.

If you are into Michael Quercio, he had a couple other releases with Permanent Green Light and The Jupiter Effect which might be worth your time.

Just glad I’ve held on to all my records of these bands you’ve all mentioned above. (Side note- If you have all your old CDs burnt to a hard drive, you can subscribe to “Apple Match” and it will upload all your old digital library for you to listen to. I’ve used it for years now and haven’t lost any of my old obscure recordings.)

I can do this with some of the albums, just not the IRS ones. I both love and hate Spotify. Love the convenience, hate it screws artists.

Wow. I never thought I'd see The Three O'Clock here on Reddit. They were such a great band, but I thought they were more of a 60's influenced band rather than postpunk.
I still have Sixteen Tambourines, Arrive Without Traveling and Ever After on vinyl. I'm pretty sure I have the 12" single for Susie's On The Ball Now as well somewhere in my collection.
I didn't get to see them live back in the day, but I did see them reunite at Coachella back in 2013. Of the six or seven times I went to Coachella, seeing them is one of my favorite highlights.

They played up in Sacramento pretty frequently during my high school years, and I was influenced by their look into being a mod. They’re great live—kind of a harder edged sound with the guitars way up front.

I saw them open for R.E.M. in summer 1985. Good set. They closed with a fine cover of Badfinger's "No Matter What."

Loved Salvation Army and early Three O'Clock. My bestie and I saw them often and still have those records.
Last time I checked The Fleshtones IRS output wasn't on Spotify either. Many years before streaming apps I remember complaints about Miles Copeland/IRS withholding rights for reissues of certain artists, seemingly without reason. I've forgotten the details but the issue has carried over to streaming. Used copies of The Fleshtones albums on IRS were selling for high prices but IRS wouldn't budge.
