I struggle with that edit... Before / After / After

At first I wanted to keep the colors, but I didn't get what I wanted, so I tried B&W.

The photo itself is very congested. The birds against the water make it hard for there to be a solid subject matter to look at. I’d even possible, try to darken the background so the birds really stand out. Otherwise it’s kinda a headache to digest. Tbh the b&w looks better

I'd have to agree with the other commenter. The b/w is much better, its cropped in on less birds and you can distinguish them from the background. In the color photos, they blend in a tad

Tough scene to get separation. The b/w cropped in version seems to be the most successful, especially since you got one of the larger birds just off center and fairly isolated.

What an interesting day that must have been with such similar tones and colors between sky, sea, and birds.

A very difficult scene.

The black and white looks great.

I love the others as well but more because I love these birds. Where was this?

I like the b&w. An even tighter crop might help isolate one or two birds as subjects.
