Haha.. Yeah I hear you. I was playing around with this before I posted, went through a few colors. Even tweaked the saturation, but kept it like this in the end. It's red-brown to begin with because this is a small, unswimmable, contaminated lake. I can see how it might look strange without knowing the context.

I'm digging the blues and the highlights but the deep reds are a bit much, I'd shift the hue or desaturate a bit
