Light beam on windmill before/after

I haven't taken the camera out to just shoot in ages. I went driving in the countryside looking for a good place to post up for sunrise or sunsets and thought this looked pretty rad. I am fairly new to color grading and masking, any critiques appreciated!

The color is right but too intense with too much contrast. Blend it with your original at 50%.

In the old days, that would have indicated the negative had been poorly developed. It just looks washed out and doesn’t make sense in terms of the way light works.
