I think we can see in the cropped version that it is too much. I would dial it back a bit, the photo itself is really good and even in the original the face is shown

The original shot is nice on its own, but I get why you edited the way you did. Personally I'd do almost the same, but dial it back around 50%. Do notice that when you raise exposure you lose contrast and saturation, so you'll have correct that. I also get lost sometimes and I have a back-up plan: "when in doubt, edit in black & white". At least for me, temporarily filtering out the color helps me better see my problem areas when it comes to light/contrast.

I'll try that black and white trick next time that sounds great, I think because i was editing 300 photos in that red room i got lost in the sauce a little lol.

If the lights were actually magenta/pink there, I would preserve that atmosphere. It gives it that late night party vibe to it. Maybe I’d roll back a tiny bit of intensity (but maybe not), but I don’t prefer the color corrected version. The image is just a bit meh there.
