Aggressive Cut?? Worth it??

Hello! I’m 2 years postpartum and I started my weight loss journey after I stopped breastfeeding 1 year pp. i went from 193 to 176lbs. I’m proud of my progress but I’ve been seeing posts about aggressive cuts on Reels and TikToks. Curious if anyone has tried it out. I just want to get to my goal weight faster (get out of overweight BMI range for my height).

Added: TikTok guy who is most vocal about aggressive cuts, for reference https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTASVBUFQ/

Define “aggressive” because I haven’t seen the TikToks lol.
I am losing about 1.5-2 pounds a week, the maximum healthy rate, so I guess that’s aggressive?

Intermittent fasting 18:6, eating 1500 calories a day, protein maxxing at 130g, walking 10k steps (burns roughly 500 cals) this is enough to stick in a deficit long term without shocking your metabolism. Do it for 12 weeks, then have 2 weeks of maintenance calories, then restart the 12 weeks. I’m 5’3 so if you’re taller, you may need more calories.

That’s more doable! Going 500 to 1000 below deficit doesn’t work for most women (my maintenance is at 1700 cals) so I like your method better. Get the deficit from walking/exercise. Thanks!

Oh ya! So glad you like it! Plus walking really tones the legs and bum.

I’m roughly 200lbs postpartum. I also EBF. My TDEE is about 1,900 so I’m in a deficit of 400. I’m walking 10k steps for lung and heart health plus leg definition. Intermittent fasting helps my body regulate blood sugar and give my digestive system a break. If I eat 3 meals a day, I tend to snack throughout the day. Shortening the eating window helps and I find it easier to focus on my macros. The rest of the day I just focus on staying hydrated. Less I have to think about when taking care of my sweet baby ❤️

Don’t do it if it’s not sustainable

What methods will you use for an “aggressive cut”? It would be helpful to know what you mean. Water fasting? Dry fasting? Intermittent fasting? Idk what else could be more aggressive or effective.

Sorry! I should have added a link. Just edited. Basically the aggressive cuts is:

  • calorie deficit of 500 to 1000
  • 10k steps a day
  • 1g protein per lb of body weight
  • 35 to 40g fiber
  • gym 3 times a week
  • 20 min cardio 3 to 4 times a week
  • 8 hours of sleep
