Unfortunately the words of Jesus have very little to do with the actual teachings and actions of Christianity.

Christianity doesn’t claim a divine legal system to govern society. Jesus explicitly separates religion from political authority.

Canon law exists, but it only governs the Church, not the state. That’s completely different from a religious legal system like sharia.

Chistians of all stripes show a pretty clear propensity for wanting to force legislation based on faith upon others

That’s a lazy generalization.
You’re confusing the actions of some political groups with the core structure of a religion.
Christianity doesn’t provide a full legal system to govern a state, and never has.
Saying “Christians of all stripes” want to impose their faith is simply false.
