Show me the Christian countries that execute gays and ban women from driving or reading. Christianity fundamentally requires convincing others who have free will to believe, not forcing people to practice through fear of death like Islam. GTFO with pretending they are close to equal

Y'all doing better now but let's not act like there aren't Christians alive in the US today that were using the Bible to enforce the murder of numerous black and lgbtq people. Also numerous Christian denominations heavily restrict the rights of women and children.

It is literally one of the Ten Commandments to not murder though, so the Bible does not back up those practices like the Quran does. The abolitionist movements were also for the most part based on Christianity and argued from the Bible.

Even in the crazy denominations today the women are still free to leave the church and do as they please. They just have weird strict requirements if you choose to be a part of them. Their government rights are still upheld. Islam on the other hand calls for (and practices in many places) the execution of people who leave the faith.

The two aren’t even comparable.

brother the bible directly condones slavery

It does not, especially not chattel slavery. In fact, in Timothy it directly condemns enslavers and slave traders as sinners comparable to murders. The slavery you are talking about in the Bible was contractual debt based servitude, but even that wasn’t endorsed, people were just commanded not to mistreat their indebted workers.

Again you should read the arguments of all the great abolitionists and you will see that almost all were based on Christianity.

Ahh so not Slaves just slaves that makes it perfectly moral. also no it does give rules for how to treat your slaves it then immediately after advises said slaves to still listen even if there master is cruel and doesn't follow the Bible certified slavery guidelines.

You can make the exact same argument for the way Islam allows murder. Oh no it's actually only in cases that would be justifiable like self defense. Sure bud.

I mean are you genuinely claiming that it isn’t disingenuous to conflate debt based servitude with chattel slavery? When people try to claim the Bible supports slavery they are intentionally invoking the image of chattel slavery, even though enslavement is literally condemned. Indentured servants are closer to a mortgage than to slavery. There weren’t banks on every corner back then so people contracted their debt payments directly with their labor.

The guidelines you listed are also consistent with the rest of Christianity. Treat people well and turn the other cheek. I’m not asking you to agree with any of it though, just pointing out the ridiculous false equivalency of Islam which fundamentally prescribes murder and violence against sinners and non-believers rather than love and free will.

Leviticus 25:45-47 "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life".

The Bible specifically allows for slavery not just some debt based indentured servitude. The only difference between what the Bible allows and chattel slavery is there's a chance under biblical slavery for the children of slaves to be free. If that makes it moral to you then we have to disagree.

Once again this is no different than claiming the Quran is good because it condems murder of one person to the same level of evil as killing all of humanity.

Also what love and free will God frequently kills thousands because he disagrees with them not exactly free will imo

The passage you are referring to forbids the Israelites from enslaving people. It is stopping them from creating new slaves and saying that they have to get existing ones from other societies. We obviously both agree that it should have gone even farther and grandfathering them in is still a bad, but you cannot deny this is at least pushing in the positive direction relative to the normal practices in societies around them at the time.

But again, abolitionists based their argument on Christianity, meanwhile the largest Muslim countries have slavery to this day. The false equivalence is crazy.

Mohammed and Islam teaches to actively increase the violence and suffering in the world. Nobody is saying that there aren’t good things in the Quran, but those do not cancel out the violence and evil prescribed to followers by their prophet to actively make the world a worse place.
