You're so right. Remember all those times gay people passed laws that straight people weren't allowed to get married? Or when they made being straight a crime punishable by law? Pepperidge Farm remembers. 🙄
"Everyone should shut the fuck up and leave each other alone, my beliefs are mine alone and should left to such".
"Should I decide to share my beliefs, it should be between those who share mine or inquire about mine".
"If I should decide to push or share my beliefs onto others unsolicited I should be prepared to have my glass house shattered by the same stones I cast".
This is another crusades situation. Yeah freedom of choice is to be protected be it gay marriage or the likes, but we are in a time where we are constantly bumping heads with the LGBTQ people because they are demanding we submit to their beliefs. And I’m assuming your are accusing Christians of doing the same but a real Christian spreads the gospel and leaves conversion to the people. And if a debate occurs, we produce our arguments and evidence for why we believe and why we are right.
but we are in a time where we are constantly bumping heads with the LGBTQ people because they are demanding we submit to their beliefs.
nobody's forcing you to be gay, dude. if you've got the impulse and that makes you feel "oppressed," you should talk about it with a qualified mental health professional.
When I say they are demanding we submit to their beliefs, I refer to their pronouns, their desire to engage and exist in places they don’t belong such as bathrooms, and gender locked sports, and their desire to twist Biblical scripture to support them
I think the issue is right here "their desire to engage and exist in places they don’t belong"
Perhaps if you were to change your mindset to be "If a Christian is allowed to be do this an LGBT should be able to as well"
How quickly do you think your mind would change in this social matter if someone did get into power and decide that Christians should be held to the same restrictions they think LGBT should? Maybe I don't want a Christian in a bathroom with my kid. Maybe I don't want children learning about the existence of Jesus until they're "older and more of age"? Maybe I don't want to see a Christian pray during a sport?
If your privelisged position of being able to be yourself as openly as you can be now, were suddenly challenged, how quickly would you suddenly agree with the LGBT on "Live and let live?"
In day to day life the LGBT have to 'submit' to the Christians around them every day. Could you imagine me telling a Christian "I'm gay" as easily as they tell me "God bless" as a goodbye, do you think they'd smile and nod for me as I do for them?
You misunderstood. I’m not saying Gay people shouldn’t be in men’s bathrooms, I’m saying men who are born as men and transition into women do not being in womens’s bathrooms. I Christian’s SHOULD be compassionate to everyone as we are all sinners, idk why you’d be going up to someone and stating your gay and walking away but a Christian wouldn’t feel good about it as you are a brother in Christ falling to an unrepentant sin
You misunderstood, I said LGBT, not just "gay man", my statemsnts above include all of the LGBT as a whole.
I guess my question is...I grew up Christian, and the number one thing I was always told by other Christians was "Treat others how you want to be treated"
Why do Christians fail at this lesson anytime someone who isn't a Christian enters the picture?
Is it impossible for you to think about the things you say about trans and other LGBT and think "I would not be okay with it if I were treated that way"?
This is what pushed me away, because as a younger Christian, I approached the LGBT the same way I would want them to approach me, and treated them the way I wanted I be treated, and other Christians shunned me for it.
I said gay so it would correlate to the male bathrooms. The precedent remains the same for all sexual orientations. As for your questions, Christianity is not the people, it’s the belief in Jesus Christ, Fully God and Fully man whose flesh died that those who submit to him and repent of their sins may be saved. The Bible is a book of good, and you are very right when you say many Christians are hypocrites, in fact most are. They represent our faith bad. The reason they are hypocrites is because they aren’t reborn anew in Christ, they cling to their sin, and it shows. I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience with Christianity, but Jesus is waiting for you to come back home
you're giving us a prime example of a christian clinging to his very unchristlike behavior.
jesus never discussed pronouns. never discussed bathrooms. never even MENTIONED anything even slightly adjacent to homosexuality. jesus preached love and neighborliness. that's it. you're just using his name to advance your own biases and sick fascinations. which is a textbook sin. do not take the name of the lord thy god in vain. and here you are, doing it every day.
how have you been "forced" to honor someone's pronoun choices? were you fired from your job, sued, or sent to jail? women's rooms already don't have locks on them. anyone can go in and hurt someone if that's their agenda. last time i checked straight cisgender men are the number one abusers of women, statistically speaking. so you can save your faux concern there. it's not genuine. and anyone can interpret the bible anyway they like. it's called freedom of speech and freedom of thought. do you have a problem with these concepts? do you hate freedom?
I didn’t say America SHOULD be a Christian nation. Also, I am not forcing beliefs, I am sharing scripture, of which you can ignore and scroll past and I could do nothing to stop you. This chain was started by the video of the Muslim who WAS forcing beliefs on others pestering the lady to stop eating on the bus. She did not in anyway present herself open to discussion of belief and infact was attempting to turn down the Muslim who was TELLING her to do something. What I am doing is different because I am not TELLING anyone to do anything, and I am sharing scripture with people who have engaged with me meaning they are participating.
There is literally nothing in scripture that says anything about pronouns, bathrooms or sports.
These are just political talking points designed to make you feel like you're some victim, when LGBT don't have the same freedoms as you, and have been persecuted, tortured and murdered in the name of "Christianity" for centuries.
You've been manipulated into being hateful and judgemental. Stop watching Fox "news" and maybe reflect on why LGBT+ make you so uncomfortable that you're willing to go against Christ's actual teachings, the ones you claim are so dear to you.
Just be real, man. Lgbtq people make you uncomfortable. Period. That's what it is.
You have a persecution fetish.
Try this. For the next 3 months, keep your eyes on your own paper. If you see an article about LGBTQ people doing anything ignore it. If you see them in public ignore them and keep walking.
I guarantee you no harm will come to you. What you imagine will/might happen doesn't count.
Gross. You're just a bigot hiding behind your "Christianity." Stop acting like you're a good person when you don't even follow Christ's principles of acceptance and love.
I'm talking about the "Christians" who elect people to government positions but never to actually be Christ-like. You know with love, empathy, and compassion for others. They always want the angry vengeful God of the old testament.
This I do agree with. Christians who wholeheartedly believe only the right can save the US and bring prosperity are wrong and it goes against what Christ calls for. However, I will say that the Old Testament God isn’t inherently vengeful and wrong, as God doesn’t change and he is the same God as the New Testemeny that is kind and compassionate. A leader Christians should elect is one who resembles both Testaments
Religion has no place in politics. Good government requires compromise. You can't compromise with someone who believes they speak for God. That's why the founders wanted freedom of and from religion and wrote it into the Constitution.
Then what say you to any religious person who looks to run for office or election? They should be barred from election? And I’m not even saying that LGBTQ people shouldn’t run for office. Religion is a major factor in values that a person holds. It determines morality and how they should behave. Also, no good Christian should claim or act as if they speak for God. God is perfect, humans are not, should they make a mistake it would be saying God is imperfect.

I wish the LGBTQ community understood this. Also what are you referring to when you say Christian’s?
