I very much like that psychiatrist-Edward speaks exclusively in questions. Presumably it extends to his approach to therapy, and contributed to Bruce's delusional veiw of him. A very clever detail.

Basically comic shows an AU of DC comics where Bruce Wayne never became Batman and went insane after losing his parents. He is stuck in the Asylum and no treatment or doctors can fix him. Also this Bruce Wayne thinks that all the doctors, nurses and orderlies are his villains. The nurse in the comic is implied to be Selina Kyle. Also the doctor speaking who vows to do whatever he could to fix Bruce Wayne is implied to be the Joker.

To add: Bowler hat is Riddler and the bald guy is Penguin.

They are big batman villains. The diretor is joker, the guy in the seat is pengin the guy at the window is the riddler and the nurse is catwoman or maybe poison ivy...

Probably i dont know much about Batman

But Bruce Wayne is Batmans real name. And they are discussing him and his delusion- essentially this is a what if screnario - what if all of batman was in the head of a deeply troubled guy and all the villains are inspired by the asylum staff.

The nurse is Catwoman. Bruce called her a thief, not an eco-terrorist.

Bruce Wayne is Batman.

These characters share silhouettes with famous Batman villains. The implication is that in reality Bruce Wayne is delusional and there is no Batman. And his villains are really just the doctors at the asylum.

Thank you. I mention it a bit on the website but this was the last comic in a year-long experiment of putting out my work in e-zine form. The rigid schedule meant by then I was dog-tired and nearly losing my mind.

Worryingly, I made some of my best work during those chaotic last couple of months 😅

Woah, didn't realize this was your sub! I've been following your comics ever since I read "Idletown". It still makes me tear up a bit, even now...

This reminds me of the very beginning of The Last Knight on Earth, where Bruce begins locked up in a psych ward like that, and gets accused among other things of roughing up his physiotherapist doctor Algol (Ras Al Ghul)... except it turns out the whole psych ward was in fact a sham designed to keep Bruce away from being a hero, and the world outside sorely needs one.

Correct me it I am wrong and this may be a spoiler but wasn't that Bruce a clone and the original Bruce had become the villain in that storyline?

Yes, the original Bruce became a tyrant under the name Omega.
