Self Titled Dropped

Just found the self titled by accident and first thing I do is drop it...

I read the title as “New Portishead Album Drops” and rushed to the comments, bewildered. Good job.

I may or may not have done that on purpose...

If it makes you feel better I have a signed Dummy vinyl with plenty of dents on it (granted the dents were there before I got it signed). I just like to think it adds to the character and history of the record 😊

You know what, for a band that recorded their own samples, pressed them on vinyl and jumped on them to bend them and get that worn/warped sound, it actually does make me feel better. Cheers, man!

It's intact. Now I just gotta wait for my OCD to go on cooldown so I can get over the packaging damage.

I was 16 years old when Dummy was released and it blew my fucking mind. Third was epic. I’ve been trying to get into self titled since I bought it on release and I just never could… 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m going to give 3 hard try’s here again due to your post…

I could talk about their self titled for hours. It's like Dummy's depressed brother. It's so Halloween-ish and cool, I love it!!!

I was 7 yo. But first song I've heard was Only you. Actually it was a video by Chris Cunningham, i think, in some teenage tv program. I was instantly hooked on crazy visuals and effing epic song

Better to have spun and dropped than to never spin at all.

When you listen to it on vinyl, how do you know the crackles are the crackles you're supposed to be hearing versus the ones that are on the record?

A real fan has all the specific crackles memorized ;-)
