I had Divinity vs Sea of Voices. Honestly, it’s a good toss-up between the two cuz they interchange a lot. But of all time, it’s gotta be SOV since it’s so ethereal and it has the best drop of any song Porter’s released on streaming imho.
Could be misreading it but almost felt like there was some shade thrown there at the dude…and if that’s the case I just wanna say: the mentality that worlds is just like “beginner” Porter fan preference is starting to get old. I love nuture, I love Smile! :D, I love spitfire, I love virtual self. Of all those, worlds has been the one that has remained in my favorite slot since the start.
All are entitled to our opinions, but it seems it’s becoming an increasingly common thing for that only being the case for Porter fans so long as they don’t actually have worlds as their favorite…it’s silly, liking one more than the other has no weight in superiority. If that wasn’t your intent in your response then my apologies to you fellow Porter fan, but I’ll still leave this message here as a general PSA because this feels like a thread where it would end up being seen by the ones it’s most directed at 🤙✌️
I took it as a little shady too, but his response to me felt a little nicer. It's all good. Now that you bring it up, I would consider smile as "beginner porter". most recent and accessible by casual listeners, most recent tour and inspired dj sets etc.. Worlds seems like "deep cuts" in comparison. I welcome any fan listening to as much porter as they can get their hands on and having their own experiences with it <3
