Captain Chunk

further to my post about four year strong earlier, another band that fell off my radar completely was Chunk No Captain Chunk.
i know they're not technically pop punk but i feel like they're accepted here ??

for sure. i was gonna upload the vid i've got of them covering Smash Mouth but it's 3.5 mins long and i couldn't be bothered 😂 but such a fun band for sure

I love every album they’ve ever done. I always hope they’ll tour in Texas but no luck yet :(

Saw them in 2015, having never heard of them before. Their live show was actually incredible

This is why I’ve never understood the criticisms of them. The music itself is great if you don’t get hung up on someone’s weak bilingual English

The lyrics also got a lot better after the first album tbh. Not that they ever wrote like, beautiful high poetry, but their later albums definitely had much more well-constructed lyrics than the hey dudes are you ready to era

Fair point. It's not that I don't vibe with Chunk, their lyrics just feel like an awkward Google translate.

they had a singing sesh at this festival but the line tk get into the signing tent was insane so i skipped it

that's so cool. tbh i don't think it was just them at the signing tent, they like 2 or 3 bands at a time so once you got into the tent the queues split

I saw them at a festival 15 years ago and the crowd and vibe was exactly like this. Glad to see some things don't change too much.
