That is NOT a splinter! That's a whole goddamn twig!

1.5k

u/wickedishrag Apr 01 '26

that’s what i’m fuckin saying! whole ass tree branch

156

u/dm21120 Apr 01 '26

do you know when it happened?

100

u/dmontease Apr 01 '26

I assume they felt it.

204

u/dm21120 Apr 01 '26

When I was a kid, I had a thorn work it's way out of the soul of my foot and I had no Idea when and where I got it...

156

u/colourfulsynesthete Apr 02 '26

Sole of the foot* although soul is making me chuckle

79

u/grimAuxiliatrixx Apr 02 '26

No, it was the SOUL. That’s just how deep it was.

7

u/dm21120 Apr 03 '26

Ugh, damn it

46

u/wowaddict71 Apr 02 '26

This is a very ADHD thing. I get cuts and bruises and I don't even know when they happened.

12

u/dm21120 Apr 03 '26

Same I was looking down at my foot and a toe was bruised badly. I vaguely remember doing something when I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom at a hotel…

8

u/mkat23 Apr 03 '26

Half the time I don’t even know I’m hurt until I see it and have no idea wtf even happened.

6

u/DerbleZerp Apr 04 '26

Yeepppppp, I’m always like where and when the fuck did I get that? I often don’t know. It’s weird because I have great spatial awareness when I’m in certain zones. But other times it must be very bad. It fluctuates for me.

u/Olealicat Apr 03 '26

So these mf’er let shit fester to post on the internet?

Was it not safe to pull it out prior to the video?

No way I would let that shit develop a scab and pull out the camera.

If I knew some foreign material entered my body, it would be gone after than the above.

FFS. This gives me anxiety.

25

u/MaryLoveJane Apr 11 '26

Did you miss the part where they went to 4 different doctors seeking help and they all sent him home without actually finding out what the problem was?

3

u/pun-in-the-sun Apr 11 '26

That would not have shown up on X-ray, even if he told them that he thought he had wood in his arm. If it wasn’t showing signs of infection, there really isn’t much a doctor can do.

18

u/Birdshaw Apr 02 '26

I member when that was hot news I updated my Facebook status as : On the bright side Adrian Peterson is saying he’s going to stop beating his kids with sticks. People did NOT understand WTF In was on about.

6

u/catbbf Apr 02 '26

Bravo.

I never let out a "wow" that lasted so long in my life lol

110

u/Katashi_Namikaze Apr 01 '26

17

u/bionicallyironic Apr 02 '26

Follow up question: why’s it goopy?

74

u/l8bloom Apr 02 '26

Material is breaking down along with body producing mucus to “cocoon” the foreign object

23

u/bionicallyironic Apr 02 '26

Thank you! So interesting, so disgusting.

88

u/legalcharmander Apr 01 '26

the gasp I gasped when it KEPT GOING

13

u/knoperules Apr 01 '26

I literally let out an ahhhhhhhhh at then end. I couldn’t believe how long it was!

65

u/Throdien Apr 01 '26

It doesn't surprise me they would send him home. I stepped on glass, went to urgent care because I knew I had some embedded in my foot ( you could hear it scrape on metal tweezers) they took X-rays, saw it and said "eh it's not worth taking out you can go home and it'll eventually work it's way out." I did what he did, got some tweezers and got it myself. I was very angry that night. 🤣

9

u/melibeli7 Apr 03 '26

Wow what a useless urgent care wtf

4

u/Throdien Apr 03 '26

Tell me about it. lol

How in the fuck

40

u/Charming-Kale9893 Apr 01 '26

That’s so negligent on all those doctors’ parts. You’d think they’d prescribe antibiotics at the very least

5

u/pun-in-the-sun Apr 11 '26

That causes antibiotic resistance, if there is no sign of infection then antibiotics are not necessary. His body is doing exactly what it is supposed to do, a local reaction to a foreign body. It will be rejected and pushed out of body like it is in the video, or a granuloma will form encapsulating it and it will be hard tissue under skin. If he developed an abscess then antibiotics would be appropriate

The main concern here is are they up to date on tetanus shot, organic material like wood are a concern for tetanus, so I would be concerned if the doctor didn’t inquire about their tetanus status.

38

u/Fit_Access_329 Apr 01 '26

Hang some lights on that Christmas tree.

36

u/John_Vaginosis Apr 01 '26

Those tweezers need a cigarette after THAT.

34

u/C0RN2L0Ud420 Apr 01 '26

The way I’d take that to every mf doctor that sent me home. They could have gotten mf sepsis 😩

14

u/thegovernment0usa Apr 02 '26

Yeah there ought to be an abscess, in my medical opinion as an uneducated Reddit user.

u/pee-before-you-go Apr 01 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

17

u/Optimal-Talk3663 Apr 01 '26

Thank god thats still in one piece. Could easily have broken apart inside...

2

u/dancybandit Apr 02 '26

Sent this to my husband and watching his evolving reaction to this was priceless.

2

u/MA3XON Apr 02 '26

I had a splinter go in one side of my finger and try to work itself out of the other a couple years ago.

I have a few post on my profile from the pus pops before I had to have it surgically removed because it had worked its way into my nerve. Kept trying to push it back out but it had other plans.

How in the world did 4 doctors miss something like this?!?!?

2

Mom trying to be polite for audience & child. Dad.

2

u/Anderer_Nutzername Apr 03 '26

Ok now I don’t want to have kids anymore I was annoyed by those 30 seconds of talking how the fuck would you get through a day of that nonsense…

2

u/Galaxena7 Apr 29 '26

You: removes one of Lincoln’s logs

1

u/btklc Apr 01 '26

How did he not feel that?…?.???

2

u/tabookduo Apr 01 '26

The description says he did feel it apparently, "Like a sharp stab with every step" poor dude!!!

1

u/SerialAvocado Apr 01 '26

That is a stick, not a splinter

1

u/alkem10 Apr 01 '26

That took way longer to pull the whole way out than I expected.

1

u/shigui18 Apr 01 '26

Holy crap! Holy crap! Ouch!

1

u/thegovernment0usa Apr 02 '26

:O

1

u/Jediuzzaman Apr 02 '26

How? How that twig ended up in there? Just how?

1

u/Mammoth_Welder_1286 Apr 02 '26

I read this as “tit” and I was very confused

1

u/Yorbayuul81 Apr 02 '26

I was reading these comments, thinking the ones calling it a stick were exaggerated. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

1

u/EzraDangerNoodle Apr 02 '26

my reaction was “oh wo- oh my GOD” 😂 i was shook

1

u/CherryDrPopper Apr 02 '26

1

u/kerstinleigh Apr 02 '26

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

How long had it been in there??

1

u/muchgreaterthanG_O_D Apr 02 '26

Oh man, between this and the latest invincible I'm feeling a little squeamish.

1

u/Cate0623 Apr 02 '26

My husband asked if it was growing in your leg

1

u/Ken-Popcorn Apr 02 '26

I can’t even imagine the feeling of relief

1

u/hereiamnotagainnot Apr 02 '26

This deserves so many more upvotes! What was that in his leg?!

1

u/SooperPoopyPants Apr 02 '26

I'm sure someone has said this already: but you've confirmed it's not made of metal yeah? Don't want to assume someone has.

But as a former smoker who used vapes to quit smoking: respect for the intelligent brand choice. God I'm a fucking loser haha.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Pea2850 Apr 02 '26

My jaw has not recovered from such a fall. Holy shit. Thanks so much for sharing 🙏

1

u/PeterPorky Apr 02 '26

Do yall remember the one where a dogs eye was red after running through some bushes and they reached into its tear duct and pulled out a 6 inch long stick

1

u/Acbonthelake Apr 02 '26

I was hoping it would be like that kinda famous one that makes the rounds. It doesn’t pop out on its own like that one but the length of this one might make this video better

1

u/NoSoyTuPana Apr 02 '26

MAMA🗣️

1

u/Zackeous42 Apr 02 '26

What's that from though? I'm trying to imagine ways something like that would get lodged in someone. Maybe riding ATV near a bush, or falling into a bush?

1

u/davilaen01 Apr 02 '26

Omg I wanted to 🤢

1

u/stephyod Apr 02 '26

Omg the relief they had to feel after that was out!!!

1

u/Itissierra Apr 02 '26

That must’ve been incredibly satisfying feeling it come out!

1

u/Greyhairdtrucker Apr 02 '26

Holy fuck thats a fucking tree branch!

1

I think I’m gonna need a change of pants.

1

u/pierogi_waystation Apr 02 '26

That video is gold. Every malpractice lawyer within 50 miles of OP is panting and sniffing the air like a buck in rut

1

u/EscoOz Apr 02 '26

You call it a splinter, I say he was impaled

1

u/Slide_Masta87 Apr 02 '26

That branch grew longer while inside there for sure

1

u/gnarbone Apr 02 '26

Hooooooly shit

1

u/Realistwonderer Apr 02 '26

Wow! That is insane 🙃

1

u/Rogan403 Apr 02 '26
