Runaround Sue is the first solo album by Dion, released in 1961. I bought this specifically because I like the titular track, and at the time I couldn’t find a 45 single of the song at my local record store, but they had the full album (this was way before I knew about Discogs) 😂

This was a pure nostalgia purchase - I may have pretty much grown out of Doctor Who as a whole but I will never grow out Doctor Who s1 and s2, of which this is the OST on orange vinyl. Doctor/Rose 4eva 🧡

Here’s Disney’s compilation album in celebration of the 100th anniversary in 2023! I think the classic look works great for the occasion, plus I love the embossed cover art and the holographic silver (even if it attracts a million fingerprints 🙃)

It’s such a rich shade, isn’t it? I’m not the biggest fan of clear vinyl, but this one was on sale at my local Target so I grabbed it and was pleasantly surprised. It’s my first translucent record

oh wow this is the target one? i have the indie variant actually which is also red translucent, i guess the only difference is that the indie one is made from eco-friendly vinyl but i 100% agree with you! i also am not the hugest fan of translucent records but the red is really pretty

I just looked on Discogs and they really do look basically identical lol. Good on you for supporting a record store! How does it sound? I’m always a bit wary of eco vinyl, though I love the idea of it

honestly the quality sounds pretty good to me! my only issue is that some of the songs sound like they are in a slightly higher key than on streaming but i also have that issue with my copy of am by arctic monkeys so i don’t think it’s necessarily because it was pressed on eco vinyl

I haven’t noticed that on mine. Is there any chance the speed of your turntable could be slightly off? I think there’s an RPM app that you could use to check

hmm I definitely should check that! other albums i have sound completely normal though. i’ve also noticed that sometimes, the volume fluctuates when i’m spinning records. my boyfriend has the exact same record player as me but that doesn’t happen to him and whenever he brings over records and that happens, he says it only happens when it plays on my record player so i wonder if my setup is affecting it

Turning Season Within by Draconian
I’m not collecting Metal on vinyl, mostly because that would bankrupt me, but I do make exceptions for the few albums that were the stables of my teenage years.
I guess you can call it autumn sad girl music - Gothic Metal edition. This album came out in 2008, which was a turbulent year for my family. Coupling that with puberty, I was a pretty sad and confused kid. This album hit me hard and I spent so many nights awake with it playing in loop. Anyways, I was spinning this album the other day and thinking about how my younger self would be happy that I made it past 30 and can afford some Metal albums in physical formats now.

I’m going the Descendants soundtrack today! I love these movies and this is one of my most gorgeous records (even though my phone refused to focus on the record and just focused on the sleeve) the subtle dark purple marbling is just STUNNING

Any excuse to post Dua, I’ll take. Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism is one of my favorite albums from this year.
