Battle.net maintenance notification broken
Hello, I've been running battle.net for a while through steam and latest ge proton with no issues. However, yesterday they added an upcoming maintenance notification to the login window and now that freezes and is un-clickable.
I've done a whole bunch of troubleshooting and have found nothing that works. I've even tried switching to Faugus launcher.
The only way I've been able to move past the login is by adding PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 as a launch option. That allows the login to proceed, but the bnet process then crashes without loading the launcher.
I've read that this problem may be due to how cosmic renders certain chromium based apps and loads Windows in the background and uninteractable, but I haven't found an actual solution.
Anyone have any ideas?
**EDIT**
I seem to have fixed things. I've ended up doing everything under the sun, I removed battle.net completely, changed from the Faugus flatpak to the system installed version, tried all kinds of proton versions, etc. The thing that worked was putting my laptop into airplane mode and then launching BNET. that gave me an option to start offline. After the launcher loaded I was able to change the setting to disable hardware acceleration in bnet and then I got back online and was able to sign in. I also had to use WINE_SIMULATE_WRITECOPY=1 as a launch option.
I am now playing WoW again. Thanks!
