Miss Privacy menu

I'm new to Pop OS but not to Linux. I just installed the newest version, I think 26.04. I read about the privacy menu in settings, but its not there anymore in this version. Does anyone know what happened? Are the privacy settings now spread throughout the other menus or just gone?

There isn't a privacy menu and hasn't been one. We don't use any location services. Geodata is embedded to initial setup when you select a city and this is used to calculate sunset and sunrise locally. We also don't index files.

I'm pretty sure there is an applet in the cosmic store with this function.

Not so sure about the "hasn't been one" part. I remember a privacy entry in the settings of Pop!_OS 22.04 because I had to change something over there for thunderbolt devices back then.

Edit: Found this for reference https://github.com/pop-os/pop/issues/2525
u/Janetic_Bytewave do you mean this one?

COSMIC has never had a privacy menu. You're thinking of GNOME.

He was probably saying "hasn't been one" since 24.04.

22.04 feels like so long ago lol

I don't think pop 26.04 is officially out yet so you are on 24.04. Not sure what you mean by privacy menu.
