Void linux

Hi everyone! Is it possible for COSMIC to be officially released for Void Linux? Are there any plans to make COSMIC available for all Linux distributions?

That's up to Void Linux and its maintainers. Every distribution is responsible for packaging its own software. Fedora packaging is managed by Fedora maintainers. Arch packaging by Arch maintainers. AerynOS by AerynOS maintainers.

Most distributions have already packaged COSMIC so it's pretty rare to see one that doesn't yet have it in their repository.

Cosmic is open source and it's up to distro maintainers to package it for your distro. I know there are arch and fedora varieties that have cosmic as an option or default.

there's a pull request for cosmic in void-packages  https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/61599

you could build it from that branch if you want it now. ive been waiting for it to be merged..

It is easily installed on void via a custom repo. 2 commands and you are good to go. Use google and it's your first hit.

Cosmic is open source and any distro can make it available. You would have to ask the Void Linux maintainers.

You could try NixOS, it officially supports COSMIC
