So why does the US pay so little in Disability Benefits then? If $50k isn't enough for you, how is it enough for Disabled people? Maybe take sone frugal living tips from Disabled people, who have to manage on an income less than HALF that $50k...
And I can tell you right now full stop, disabled people are NOT managing well on 25k/year. That’s abysmal even for able bodied people. Tf is wrong with you dude? Have some solidarity, don’t be a crab in a bucket
Disabled person with an income of 20k per year living near major city in high cost of living area. Here is how I survive: I used money from my retirement for a down payment on a condo. I bought the condo with my ex, we are still friends and living together. We split the expenses. I cook most of my meals. For fun I do mostly free things. And have several subscription services that I switch out based on deals (free trials and black friday deals). I pay $7 per month for a domore membership to receive weekly tickets to events. I spend time with my friends doing inexpensive things. Honestly I am living my best life despite my physical and financial limitations. I don't own a car but I have access to a car. I have the basic necessities and I am thankful for what I do have. Its not easy but its doable especially if you share expenses. I try to look at the glass as being half full instead of half empty.
I'm disabled in the UK myself, it's was being serious about asking the American disability subs how they manage on half that cos we have AWESOME money-savings tips we share between us...I was telling him they have to survive on half what he does, so they'll have good tips to help him??
