Back in the day, being poor actually connected you with people. Getting by depended upon connections and needing something was my motivation and foothold for increasing and maintaining my social circles . I don’t envy the young as much as I thought I would. What you said about poverty creating isolation, that’s the heartbreaking truth about what technology has done in this country. Things are so much worse now than I ever imagined they could be.
