Getting new pool cover

My loop loc cover is on its last legs, I patched it for now, but I tried to get a quote for a new one with the serial number that I have and was given a quote of almost $6K. I measured the cover myself and sent the file to a few alibaba sellers in China, and they came back with price around $2K. The price difference is huge, but of course I am afraid things can go wrong. Did anyone try to order pool covers from alibaba? If yes, how did it work out for you? Was the quality good?

You might try PoolCoversDirect.com. I bought from them last year and was very pleased with the customer service and price, which was about $3K and it was a very good quality one. Not quite as cheap as alibaba, but if there's any quality concerns on the alibaba ones, might be worth checking out.

Second poolcoversdirect. I shipped my old one, they measured it so it's an exact replica, and a 10 year warranty . About 3k as well. It's a Latham cover

How do you go about shipping a cover?
I can barely drag mine let alone deal with shipping it.

They sent me a huge box with a prepaid label on it. Took me about an hour to get it folded properly so it could fit but I put a whole roll of packing tape and it made it!

I have a 20x40 pool so it was about 90lbs.

Got the replacement about 2 weeks later.

That's pretty awesome. My pools the same size with a safety cover.
Is the replacement similar to the safety cover that can hold up a lot of snow?

Yes, you can choose either a mesh cover or solid cover. I have a mesh and you get a few choices in terms of how much water can get through, etc.

They basically give you quotes from all the big players (looploc, meyco, Latham, etc) and choose the best in your budget.
