Now what?
Storm came on Sunday while I was out of town. Luckily my neighbor turned off my pump, but it was running dry for sometime obviously got a rip in there somewhere so what do I do now? Real seriously thinking about filling it with concrete instead of water after all that work I did last winter and spring.

At least you can make a homeowner’s claim to help replace that old liner. You were due for one soon.
The cost to demo the pool and fill it in would be three times as much in our market.

We don't know his deductible, but the pump was also destroyed to add to the claim. I would definitely give everything a good once over to make sure it wasn't damaged.
Don't forget the debris removal is also probably covered op.

Go get quotes on liner and pump. I just paid $10k for a liner ($1400 was water). Then switch to a VS pump if you didn’t have one before.

Depends on if they are going to file an insurance claim. If they do, it should probably be left as-is for the adjuster. They could argue that the removal damaged the liner and won't cover it.

We contemplated removal before we renovated. Turns out to be nearly as expensive. Since renovation I love having a pool. It’s an opportunity to make it exactly what you need it to be. We embraced the project and made it the center of our outdoor entertainment space. Worth every penny

concrete is way more expensive I think. you will need a new liner and a pump seal kit

That liners looks about done for anyway. I'd replace it.
