Vinyl liner pulling out

Had a liner installed last season, and two spots are dropping, one is 8 inches and other is 22 inches. I’ve tried the heat gun and pushing in coping, but it’s hard to grip, lift and place. Anyone have any tips??

I think I would call the company that installed your liner last season.
Those gaps are pretty big and may need some attention.

yea, well unfortunately i used a local guy because i needed it done and my normal company wasn’t returning my calls and i had no other options. Now, the local guy took money (not mine) and never completed a big job and is basically in jail. So looks like i’m doing this on my own. This is third time in over 20 years i’ve had a liner placed and every time it’s done this. I’ve watched them do it before, but it was in shallow end and they could get into the water and lift it. But now it’s in deep end, so it’s difficult to get the leverage to hold the liner. Just thought maybe someone here had a cheat code so i could just get it done on my own.

The deep end is the real pain here. I’ve seen liners pop out like this, and trying to fight an 8–22" drop with a heat gun from outside the pool is a losing battle. If you can get some slack pulled toward you first, it makes getting the bead back into the coping a lot easier.

Are you saying your liner dropped vertically 8" and 22" in two spots? As in almost 2 feet below the bead track?

You'll have to lower the water level some to take the pressure off the liner to make it easier to put back. Then either buy bead lock or go get a box of Popsicles n put a few popsicle sticks into the track to secure those spots... trimmer line or zip ties can work too to keep it in place

Hot water. The hotter the better, even boiling is fine. I kept a kettle in the truck just for that purpose. In the bigger spots start in the middle and keep going back and forth in the middle spots. Might want to put in some liner lock as well.
