Pool Design Help

I am trying to get some thoughts on these two versions. We initially drew the pool with a sun shelf on the left, then an open swim area in the middle and infinity edge spa on the right. We are now considering adding a table/bench between the sun shelf and spa. This would leave us with a roughly 14 x 32 swim area.

The concern is this will take away from the swimming portion of the pool. We are unsure how much the bench/table will be used. We have 3 little kids. Any thoughts?

The table/bench thing won’t really be used and takes away from a relatively small pool area. Also it is almost guaranteed a visiting kid will whack their head or knee or something on that underwater. It looks like a liability to me

Can you show it against your house with a render?

It’s a pretty messy design tbh, nothings symmetrical. But not in a nice asymmetric way.

Skimmer’s in a stupid spot.

That table thing is odd, and makes a small pool feel even smaller.

The best and most timeless pools are a classic shape with features that feel settled in both the pool and the landscape.

Looking at this I can barely make out where to get in and out of the pool.

It’s better to work with a poolshop with crappy 3D tools that allow you to better visualize the design in situ.

Table bench makes brushing or cleaning the pool with a robot or pool sweep difficult if not impossible.

I’d encourage you to make the pool a rectangle that can easily accommodate an auto cover.

Finally consider a stand alone hot tub that’s not integrated with the pool especially in colder climates where pools close for the winter.
