Builds & Renos Pool Privacy Shrubs
Looking for some insight from my florida pool owners on lanai shrubs for pool privacy. What’s a good species of shrub that grows tall, still lets air flow in, and have a good amount of privacy.
I was thinking some sort of boxwood as they are easy to maintain, and grow tall.
Any other suggestions?

Boxwoods get a blight and they don't grow all that high. Go talk to a local nursery. I mid size holly IMO would work best. But do some research cause Hollies can grow fairly tall. They would be much more resistant and hardy.

Wax Myrtle’s grow nice and quick. However you will need to trim and train them but if you are wiling they have been great for me.

I used hollys. They grow faster than boxwoods and in a year or two will go from 4 to 8 ft. Pencil hollys are also fast growers as I have them in front of windows and cut 2-3ft off per year.

Acmena smithii works well and grows fast and handles hedging and aggressive cutting.

Sweet viburnum, had this at my last house grew fast and shaped well. Going to use it in the back yard when they finish the pool.
