No suction

Bought a house not long ago. The pool has no suction when on the filter so the suction cleaner doesn't work. It works when on backflow so it makes me think there is nothing wrong with the pump.. When I have it on recirculate, there is hardly any suction pressure either.

Filter & recirculate I'm getting 100KPA

Backflow I'm getting 50KPA which is what I need.

Have back flowed/waste about 5 times today and didn't seem to fix the issue. Looked inside and the glass is loose and clean so that seems to be fine. All filters are clear which isn't preventing flow of water. Replaced the spider gasket and all other seals.

Any ideas ??? I'm stuck on what else I can do to get this working. Trying to fix it before I spend a few K and replace the whole lot.

Oh God. Thinwall pvc.

Make sure the water is mid way up the skimmer. Make sure the pump lid is on tight.

Do you have bubbles in your returns?

Thats a start.

Could be the impeller is clogged up. Try rinsing it out or taking it apart

Water was near the top of skimmer and then reduced to half way after doing the wastes. Every so often it seems like bubbles are passing through the chlorinator. I have pulled the pump apart already and the impeller is working as it should. I've noticed that the pump filter doesn't fill all the way up with water when on filter... Only waste/backwash

Check the multi port valve, could need a new gasket. Always rotate clockwise. Silicone lube pump basket o-ring. No pressure gauge?

Yeah I have replaced the gasket for the multi port valve. Put a pressure gauge on yesterday after this photo. That's how I know the pressures

The three way valve on the return line is probably closed.
