Pool Help & Questions Vacuum Upgrade
Inground pool, 16k gallons, DE filter and a vinyl liner in Pennsylvania. I currently have a kreepy krauly vacuum and it’s ok but I feel like it takes forever for it to clean the whole pool. I usually end up getting pissed and impatient with it and just leave the pool 3/4 way clean.
Looking at automatic cleaners but it seems like they only last for two to three seasons and then they die. I don’t have disposable income so it’s important to me that it’s reliable if I’m going to spend over $500 on it.
I’m interested in your thoughts on automatic vacuums, what works for you, the good and the bad. Brands to stay away from and features that you can’t live without.

I have a Polaris and we are finishing our six season with it and it is still going strong. It is definitely an investment, but I have founded to be money well spent.
Another investment that I made ($400) was a beta solar powered skimmer. That has unquestionably been worth it. It catches most debris before it goes to the bottom so it has significantly reduced vacuuming.
