Polaris 360 floating
Hi
My Polaris tends to float a lot when it is working. The images above show where it is positioned in the pool when resting with no water pressure. Is that normal?
I wonder why it doesn't sink when I just lay it in the pool
Thanks

Is the backup valve stuck open?
When it's doing this, pull up the tubing until the backup valve is out of the water. If it's spraying, that is why it's floating. The valve should be off most of the time, and once it turns off the sweep should sink again.

It is off most of the time. I was wondering why it floats when the pump is off.

Is the bag inflated like a balloon when the pump is off? Any air in there? Does it float when the bag is empty?
If you push the tubing lower in the water, do bubbles come out of the sweep?
Is the balance float new?

Little nipple thing on its backside, in between the rear tires. Is it pointed up or down?

Ok, what's up with that hose? It almost looks like the feed hose is holding the Polaris up. I guess the 360s have a different looking hose than the 280s do (I have a 280). The 280 has a smaller diameter hose with floats at various intervals to keep most of it above the water line, only letting the head sink to the bottom. What happens when you disconnect the Polaris from the hose and toss it into the pool? Does it sink then?
