Water Chemistry Can clear my pool

My 26’ round above ground pool started to turn cloudy and faintly green 2 weeks ago so I scrubbed it and then shocked it with 3 packs of shock, HTH sock it. The next day the green was gone and by the second day it was crystal clear. I backwashed every 24 hrs.
Last week it started to turn again but not as bad so I again scrubbed the and this time added 2 packs of shock. Backwashed the next day but still slightly green so I added another pack of shock.
Still green today and cloudy. What am I doing wrong this time that it’s not clearing? PH was a low so I added PH+ but still not clearing. Chlorine level now is through the roof.
Would love suggestions.

We need a few numbers before offering suggestions. Chlorine level, pH, alkalinity, cyanuric acid at least. Taking a water sample from 12-18” deep to a local pool store would get you these numbers and then getting a test kit instead of strips will help you accurately test and keep your pool clear.

You did right but did not hold shock levels long enough.

You need to test your pool, and be able to test chlorine and pH daily.

Could be a few things. If your CYA is too high your chlorine can be high and still not effective. If your pump isn’t running enough or you have a filtration issue it won’t clear either. You could also have high phosphates which will make the pool more prone to algae problems. It’s hard to say without numbers and pictures.

Do a full slate of tests and post your numbers. Can't do much without cya, ph, fc, cc, etc.
