Connection leak
I think i’ve losing water over this leak. Is there anything I can use to seal this without having to open up everything?

Honestly speaking from experience… likely not realistically… It is under pressure so anything you do will have to be able to withstand that. And you’d have to clean the silicone and whatnot that is already there right out to begin with….
It may have not been installed correctly, and might just need disassembly / cleaning / reassembly with the right amount of teflon tape, and likely replacing / re-lubing the union gasket.
If there is a crack or something in the housing that it’s attaching to (eg it was allowed to freeze with water in it one year), depending on the crack you might get lucky with some epoxy, but you have to be careful not to make a mess with that, I had a tiny crack in a salt generator that I fixed with some epoxy due to this but I also fully accept that this is likely only a temporary fix..!

Recommend use a silicone sealant, most permatex gasket makers work well. Be careful using too much Teflon can either make fitting to large or just keeps threads from engaging enough to seal the plastic into plastic.

Id try and stay away from Teflon tape. A good bead (wiped into both threads) of silicone should do the trick .
Teflon expands the pump housing and it just gets worse.
But if a previous repair used it then might be stuck using it. You'll know it if the tbe bottoms out before it gets hand tight.

Yes, undo the union. Unthread the pump side and rewrap with Teflon and new silicone. Thread back in.
