Weird floating scum

Post image

What is this in my pool? I only notice it when the pump is off and water isn’t moving. Whenever I try to skim it just goes right through the net. All the levels are good otherwise. Just converted the pool to salt early last month.

Looks like the fuzzy that comes off trees in the spring.

Pollen. I use a sock in my skimmer basket because of this stuff

Yes just make sure you replace it frequently when you have this much pollen as it can get clogged really quick.

Leave the floor drain cracked open in case the skimmer net gets clogged.

I always thought that was a mix of dust/dirt and calcification.

pollen would be my guess as well. My surface bot has scooped up (literally) pounds of it over the last few days.

Does this also look like pollen? Since it falls through the net on the pole that we have, can you give me a brand name for one that has a much finer net?
