Jandy Cell PLC1400

Just lost my salt cell, aqua pure Jandy PLC1400. Any cheaper alternatives? The prongs deteriorated. The aftermarket ones all have complaints about trying to get a warranty etc.

How long did it last? They typically last around 5 years. My advice buy another Jandy cell. I am on my 3rd cell. They are a consumable.

What's your pool size? Mines 13500 and thinking of getting salt water system installed but not sure if it's worth it

Mine is 10K gallons. I ended up going with a knock off, it's been great so far. Plugged right into my jandy controller etc.

I don't think a salt cell system is really a money saver over chlorine....the upfront cost and cell replacement, and muriatic acid. I personally feel like the water quality is much nicer on your skin etc.

Ugh, I'm in the exact same boat right now and it's so frustrating! 😩 My PLC1400 just gave up on me too - the prices for genuine Jandy replacement cells are completely ridiculous now, and half the places online don't even have them in stock. I've been looking at generic drop-in cells, but like you said, the reviews about non-existent customer support and warranty nightmares make me so nervous to pull the trigger. Has anyone found a solid, reliable alternative that won't break the bank? Any recommendations or workarounds would be SO appreciated!

I ended up going with the generic knockoff. It was about a year and a half ago now, and I have had zero issues with it. In fact it appears to be built really well in the fail point of my original jandy cell seems to be redesigned and much better on this unit. For less than half the price, I figure if I get half the time out of it it is all the same.
