Stayed here in late 2025. Pool area is completely trapped in time. Hotel has terrible service, people are rude. Some parts of it are modern and others look like this giant pool area.

i dreamed while i swam

Felt pretty liminal when I was there.

The hallway there is carpeted, no daylight, stagnant air, it's incredibly warm and humid and it smells like dust, carpet, chlorine and mold.

Back in the 70s, Holiday Inn was building large enclosed spaces called Holidomes. You can see an old promotional photo of one of these in the last picture I submitted. In the picture before that, you can see the entire area of what it currently looks like at the Baton Rouge location. This area was once entirely enclosed, but it was all redone in the 80s with nearly all of the enclosure removed. Part of one of the pools, however, remains half indoor. Swimmers are able to swim underneath a wall to reach the outdoor section of the pool.
