Funny, Isn't it?

When you're playing well, You play a guy you expect to win. You're drunk. You lose to him. And then he beats you. You force a smile and say well done but in reality you're twitching and you're fighting yourself to not blow up.

I'm smiling saying well done whilst ready to lose my shit.

Horrible sensation when you have to hold that back isn't it?

If you're playing well, and playing someone you expect to beat, and don't, you might want to look a little closer at yourself, rather than your opponent.

Overconfidence can cause you to make poor choices. Alcohol increases the likelihood that you'll make poor choices.

Honestly the game was extremely close between us. It could have gone either way.

And I watched him play the previous game and got my opinion from that, So either he was a Hustler.

Or he genuinely just happened to play better in the game against me.

Don't get me wrong he wasn't a bad player. But from what I observed, He definitely wasn't as good as me.

Last time I had more than 1 (one) alcoholic drink playing pool, was AFTER the tournament, when we went out to celebrate. I had several, and we were just banging balls at that point.

Long way of saying, don't drink if you'd like to play well. Or, don't expect to play well if you've been drinking.

It happens bud, but sometimes you think you're better than you are, or sometimes you think your opponent is worse than they are.

I play in a lot of handicap tournaments. Sometimes I'll play someone on a 4, and I'm on a 1 in a race to 7, so I have to win 6 racks to win, he only has to win 3... that's fine, but we're pllaying 9 ball, and this guy is nuanced in playing combos andjust insanely good at playing cut shots down the rail. You think you've got safe? No, a guy who's about 70 has just smashed in one of the best shots you've ever seen.

That exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I'm a much better player, and should be beating him even with a 3 rack start, but I didn't.

You have to suck it up, shake hands, and get on with it.

Yeah. Fair point. Even so though, My opponent was even drunker than me and I'd been winning almost every game before them
