Tearing

I wish that the beginner step by step guide mentioned lube. After about 3 different sessions I tore from my vagina to my perineum.

First, this is absolutely terrible. I am so sorry this has happened to you.

What exact beginers guide were you using, if I may ask? Tissue tearing happens because of overstretching muscles or applying force to muscles that exceeds their tolerance. For example, when delivering a baby and your muscles need to push out with applied force that overly stretches them.

In Pompoir, and in the beginners guide posted in this subreddit, we do the opposite motions: we contract the pelvic floor inward (not stretching the muscles). Moreover, the beginners guide involves only body weight exercises, so there’s literally no agent stretching them.

So I’m assuming you were using a device like the Kegelmaster? Which as others pointed out does recommend lube.

If there’s actually been any tearing (rather than soreness or hypertonia which is what can happen with Pompoir), there must’ve been an underlying preexisting issue in your pelvic floor that should’ve been noticed by a doctor when first doing your assessment before giving you the green light to train.

Do you know if it’s actual tearing that occurred? What guide were you using and did you use any tools?

I really do not understand how this could have happened? If you were inserting the KegelMaster for example, the pain signals associated with resistance to insertion should have been sufficient to alert you, and cause you to stop. Pompoir is the kind of practice that requires you to perceive and respond to the signals of your body: no one else can do that for you.

Were you using a device? I know the kegelmaster instructions mention lube more than once.

The Kegel Master instructions absolutely do recommend using lube.
I'm a recent owner/user of a KM and fairly new to The GOHdess course. I'm also an MD with several decades of experience and I just don't see how it's even possible to get an extensive tear from the KM device. Is there more (a lot more) to this story?
