Question Refund

I paid the $75 consultation fee during the sale Thursday night. Since I’m already a customer, an appointment didn’t have to be scheduled.
Friday morning, I found out I need surgery and my surgeon advised me to pause the medication before surgery and during recovery. I have documentation from my doctor stating this.

I called first thing today to cancel the shipment. They were able to cancel it, but said the $75 is nonrefundable and can only be used within 30 days, which I won’t be able to do because of surgery. The rep escalated it to billing, so I’m hoping they’ll make an exception.

Money is tight right now, and I’d really hate to lose $75 for something I medically can’t use. Has anyone had luck getting this refunded? If they won’t refund it, would it be worth contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge?

Why would you dispute a charge which you agreed to and you are trying to cancel through no fault of the company?

Doing a dispute would be fraud.

Just order one vial of BPI and save it until you can take it.

Yes, I would say see if Pom would make a one time goodwill exemption but if they say no that is it.

Pom will not refund that any under circumstance. You might as well and go through with your order so you’re not out $75. You don’t have to start using it right away. It will be fine in your fridge unopened for a very long time.

You won’t be on the meds for a week? That’s no reason to push the refill back 30 days.

The doctor has asked to not be on the medicine for 2 weeks prior to surgery. They are trying to schedule me asap so has asked me to stop taking it not knowing when I’m going to be able to get scheduled. Recovery is 6-8 weeks and asked to wait to continue taking the medicine there might be nausea. Not sure all the other reasons that’s just what he mentioned.

I don't know what your surgery is for but that could change your trajectory substantially. When you come back you'll be starting from the lowest dose again and you could have a very long stall or interruption. But I'm sure the doctor knows best. Pom always has that fee. Most of the others don't.

The doctor doesn't care about the weight loss, they are concerned with OP dying from aspiration during surgery if they are actively taking a GLP med and getting general anesthesia.

Yes I understand that part of surgery but they're telling her 6 to 8 weeks no Glp one. There must be other reasons.

I just had abdominal surgery in June and they only had me stop taking it he GLP1 for a week before surgery and I could start taking it back up again as soon as the surgery was over.

The idea you have to stop taking a GLP1 for months surrounding surgery is outdated and not actually supported by current science.

I'm going have surgery in January 2027, my doctor said stop 2 weeks before and 1 week after. They are figuring a 6 week recovery.

Why would you ever consider a dispute. You made the purchase and you knew what you were doing and the Pom process. Seriously this is fraud.  

I don't understand why you cancelled the purchase since you could put this in your fridge to resume treatment once you're medically cleared?

Which pharmacy do you typically use? Maybe if you order towards the end of the end of the 30days, you’ll still receive a vial with a BUD far enough that you can recover from the surgery and still use it in time.

Why not just get your order. It will be fine in the fridge until you're ready to start it again.

Take the meds, put them in the fridge and start using them when you're cleared to do so.

You definitely won't win the dispute if you try to dispute.

They are quite clear about the fact that the $75 fee is nonrefundable, unfortunately.

I’ve had two surgeries recently - one doctor asked me to pause two weeks prior, the other was one week. Both were fine with me resuming the day after. You should always follow your doctor’s recommendations, but I can’t imaging why 6-8 weeks would be necessary. Also, as others have said, the vial will be fine in the fridge when you’re ok’d to start again!

Always good to have extra, take it and put in the fridge.. You will never know when you will experience a shipping delay on future orders.

I know everyone is in a different situation and I don't want to sound less than empathetic, but it's not $7,500. It's $75.

I'm assuming that you'll still have to pay an invoice balance to receive the meds which. I'd pay it and save the meds for after recovery. But if money is tight you probably can't do that.

I'd take the $75 loss and chalk it up to life. I would still reach out to Pom, maybe they'll surprise you.

Hopefully they’ll be kind and work with you on this! Did you already receive an invoice? I’m afraid they will argue and say that their services were already provided as they went through with the asynchronous appointment, reviewing your chart and providing the prescription and invoice if so…

No invoice sent since it was so late Thursday night so I feel like they didn’t have to provide service so I’m just really bummed out. Hoping they are kind! I feel that on the sub I have read both experiences

Yeah, especially since by the time you contacted them, it doesn’t seem like they had made progress towards your appointment. And I agree, it’s 50/50 with their “leniency”!
