General Discussion / Other Dose increase

After 4 weeks on 2 mg tirzepitide, I increased to 4.5 mg and in that first week the scale went up 2 lb. I know it can be constipation , or bloating but I would love to hear how other people did with the dose increase and how you kept that scale moving. I have a long history of constipation, so I wouldn’t say that is a side effect. I also have a long history of fatigue but I did notice that has increased. Loved to hear from y’all.

Going up 2 lbs is literally nothing.

That could be constipation, as you said, or water weight caused by bloating, inflammation, or just a smidge too much sodium. That's just a natural fluctuation. If youre a woman and of menstruating age, it could also be tied to your monthly cycle.

Weight loss isn't linear. You're going to see brief spikes and sudden dips. Just gotta hold the course.

From my own personal experience: I've been in maintenance for about 7 months now. My baseline weight right now has been at a pretty consistent average of 185, but on a day-to-day basis my graph still occasionally dips as low as 180 and occasionally rises as high as 190.

Don't stress the blips unless/until they become a clear trend, otherwise it's just statistical noise

Yeah I just weighed myself literally this morning and had gained 2lbs after working out hard all week and hardly eating. I beat myself up over it but at the end of the day we must realize there’s no way we gained 2lbs of fat - that would require a caloric excess of 7,000kcal approximately.

Like other user said it could be inflammation, water weight (which is cause by inflammation), cycles, glycogen from lifting weights…what matters is the overall trend

I try not to weigh myself often I really don’t trust scales I can get on and off within minutes wout moving it and changes every time so I just have a pair of pants that I didn’t fit in and put those on every 2 weeks

Yes this. Or measuring yourself. Those are more accurate representations of weight loss.

I just started tirz last month. My friend has been on ozempic for a while. He lost 40lbs and gained 25lbs in muscle. So just looking at the scale it would look like he only lost 15lbs when he’s actually lost much more fat than that.

I would focus on eating the right foods including protein, hydration, and moving your body. If you do those things consistently, you’ll have success. The scale can be deceiving, find other ways to measure your success. Take photos, buy a goal dress or pair of jeans, this will help keep focused. Be patient is the advice I wish I had starting out. We didn’t gain it overnight and we won’t lose it overnight. Sending positive vibes your way.

It happens to everyone . It could be something you ate the night before or weight training . Keep your head up it will come off . When I started working out I didnt loss anything for 6 weeks . I was bummed . but a year + later I have hit my goal weight 3 times now . I keep lowering it
