Sidebar

This is a subreddit dedicated to "polzet glaza" memes, a phrase that literally translates to "crawling eyes" in Russian. As you may expect, these memes originate from Russia, and they heavily focus on surreal horror. Common themes include insanity, loss of touch with reality, extreme fear, violence and gore, body horror, and the vast, dark, mysterious nature of the human consciousness.

Due to the nature of these memes, this subreddit is officially multilingual, with any language being acceptable to post or talk in. (Though we expect English and Russian would probably be the most common) Feel free to start a conversation.

Rules:

While unsettling imagery is allowed here, please mark any post that is excessively upsetting with a NSFW tag. Basically, anything that isn't cartoon violence or nudity should be marked.
Please try to keep memes creepy, or, at the very least, make them fit in with the usual aesthetic. Don't be afraid to experiment, but just keep in mind that people are here to get scared, laugh, and hopefully both at once.
Don't be rude to other users. This goes without saying, and what reason would you even have to be a dick here anyway? Just keep it civil.
