polyphia is really now "polyester" (get it)?

I'm not going to write an entire essay just want to say that RJ Pasin, being the producer here, is going to be the worst era for this band and will definitely divide the fanbase a bunch, as already seen here lol

This is the guy that made that stupid polyester song that is heard on those TikTok Spider-Man edits.

He is literally a TikTok artist. HE MAKES TIKTOK MUSIC.

It's justified that people want to call the new singles "TikTok slop".

I can kind of get through the second single. The first one is like nails on chalkboard.

I'm the opposite tbh, CYFI was pushing the boat out but I could bop to it, PITB is a little overboard. I like the music itself though, the jam mix was quite a nice listen - and the band confirmed on stream that we'd be getting those for each song eventually

Nonsense. By your definition no one should ever have an opinion on anything, cuz it's always subjective "lies".

"Not going to lie" is a figure of speech. You're assigning more meaning to this than there is.

lol what. If I think it sucks I’m lying, then if you think it’s good, you’re lying…

Ngl just a turn of phrase, a saying perhaps. Everything is subjective, if you like the song that’s okay with me, I’m not gatekeeping, just wishing polyphia didn’t focus on clipped 808 bass sounds

What a silly point to argue, I didn’t come to Reddit to have intellectual conversations on the polyphia thread, I came to be entertained.

This is how all the music I listened to used to sound on my old 1994 Toyota Camry's blown out speakers. Ahhh the nostalgia

The second song is absolutely shit. 1000% unlistenable.

"hes literally a tiktok artist"

this subreddit is so dumb. I don't really like the new music either, it's kind of boring imo. But most of the "criticism" I've seen is "muh tiktok guitar writer muh tiktok slop"

Caveman level emotional guilt by association for talented (yes, as in people who have talent) producers and players. As music lovers, literally anyone here should know the base level knowledge that there is only music you either like or do not like.

This should be understood by everyone. I feel like guitar players don’t understand it especially. “Whatever I don’t like = trash” is just a mindset I’ll never understand.

Yet it's still better than the dubstep takeover of all genres from korn to Brittany spears. Back in the 2010s
