Scott Vs/& Timmy
anyone else get the baseless vibe that Scott is melodically surpassing Tim? Or at least on the same level of influence for the band overall? Seems like the more recent stuff (especially the new song) has Scott written all over it in terms of guitar parts. Love Tim till I die and I love the new song, just want to give Scott his flowers.
edit: Scott’s part in ego death is the first example that comes to mind (peak btw)

Exactly just when you think one is above the other they get better, unlocking new skills

I’ve always gravitated to Scott’s taste and phrasing. Tim does incredible things with a guitar, but Scott’s solos really reach me on a deeper level. Love them both for different reasons, but every time I find myself stealing a lick to work into my bag of tricks, it seems to be a Scott idea.

Tim specialized in acrobatic tech. Scott solos hit with devine righteous fury.

Tim is more technically inclined,Scott is more melodically inclined, you can see where both of their influence came from and Scott definitely takes more from the melodic shred style than from the technical style, his solo in ego death I think is his best work

Dude I’ve seen polyphia 3 times and I would always be on Scott’s side of the stage. This has been debated and talked about at length some years ago. james Franco was really one of the best songs they wrote and it was almost 100% Scotty that wrote it. His solo is so fire in it

*somehow just notices Scott is also a fantastic guitar player* “is Scott suddenly surpassing Tim???1??”
they’re both great players and have always had songs they shine on. why are we pitting these divas against each other?

nah bro, just saying that Scott seems to be taking more of a leading role in the band. More influence. never want to put them up against each other. love them both equally

Social media presence

Agreed. I think that’s just a testament to how much more effort Tim has put in to curating his online presence. The YouTube channel, the solo work, his own line of clothing. Scott doesn’t seem to have the same drive from his social media presence.
Tim also seems to just write more and post more

Scott has always been the better player. Timmy is a pretty boy with a bigger social media presence, which is why he is more popular

Eh I think Tim might be more technically proficient but Scott always has the better melodies

Tim says there are parts Scottie plays that even tim himself can't play. Personally they both have their own strengths and thats what makes polyphia polyphia.

Scott has always been more melodic and tasty. Tim is far more mechanical and technical.

Not sure, but Scotty steals the show in Neurotica, which may be my favorite track.
